During the training period, I have gained exposure and experience in Family Law, Conveyancing, Civil Litigation, and Trial Advocacy. Working under my Pupil Master and Seniors, I have learned leadership skills, the importance of preparation as an advocate, how to conduct myself during litigation, interpersonal skills, and client care. I am confident that the skills I have gained during training will be crucial to my practice as an advocate because who you are tomorrow, begins with what you do today.

The firm has not only exposed me to several facets of legal practice such as Family law, Conveyancing, Litigation and Trial Advocacy but also sharpened my perspectives. My greatest lesson from my Pupil master is to always honour the client’s story and when drafting pleadings, always tell the client’s story with consistency and particularity. I believe that I have been sufficiently trained and well prepared to take up more responsibilities to help deliver the firm’s vision and promote its values.

David Brinkley once said that a successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him. I am glad to be part of the team at R.W Mbanya because they have thrown the right bricks at me. I have watched, learned, developed and grown over the course of my pupillage. The practice of law is however not a sprint but a triathlon; and I now look forward to my triathlon and what I hope will be a very honorable and fulfilling career!
